Aftercare Tips for Optimal Healing

Specific After Care Instructions are below:

  • Swelling, lumps and bumps and are completely normal and expected. It takes at least 2 weeks for filler to integrate with your tissue. The lumps and bumps will subside and get better in time.

    Expected outcomes:

    • Tenderness

    • Bruising

    • Lumps and bumps

    What you can do:

To help with healing, you may apply a cool compress.

Swelling will increase the next couple days, try to avoid salt and sleep with your head elevated. Additionally, you may take benadryl or zyrtec as needed.

To help with bruising, you can use topical arnica gel or tablets to help prevent bruising as needed. Avoid high heat, intense workouts or saunas for at least 24 hours.

If you're in pain, avoid NSAIDS such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.

    Drink plenty of water.

When to call your provider immediately:

Area blanches but color doesn't return.

    Increasing pain.

Spider veins sprawling from injection site.

    Fever over 102F.

These may indicate decreased blood flow to an area and need to be immediately addressed by your provider.

  • Any bumps will go away within a few minutes but could last a couple hours.

You may experience some bruising, this is normal.

Avoid rubbing or touching injection site for at least 8 hours. This prevents potential infection, and spreading to unwanted areas.

Avoid NSAIDS or blood thinners for 24 hours. Instead, use tylenol for pain. (unless directed by physician).

Avoid exercising, facials or saunas for at least 8 hours. Doing so helps avoid the risk of raising your blood pressure, minimizing the risk of bruising.

It's best to try and exercise movement in treated areas for 1-2 hours after treatment (frowning, raising eyebrows, squinting). This helps work the neurotoxin into your muscle.

You may start to notice results in 2-3 days, but allow 2 full weeks to allow the neurotoxin to fully integrate into your muscles.

    Results should last 3-4 months.

It is recommended to follow up with your provider 2 weeks after your treatment to monitor your results.

If follow up appointments are maintained every 12-16 weeks, the results should last longer.

  • Day of your Treatment:

Immediately after your procedure, your skin may appear red and/or inflamed. This is normal and will subside.

It’s normal for your skin to still feel numb as you leave the clinic. Your skin may feel tingly as the numbing wears off.

As your skin heals, it’s important to do everything you can to avoid bacteria from contacting your skin and causing irritation. Wash your hands, towels, pillow cases, or anything that will come in contact with your skin. Do not touch, press, rub, or manipulate the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment

You may use cold packs for 20 minutes every 2 hours the day of treatment. Continue 20 minutes every 3-4 hours the day after treatment. Then discontinue icing.

Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve (all non-steroidal and steroidal anti-inflammatory agents), Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids for 2 weeks prior to and 3 weeks after your  treatment. Remember, we are creating inflammation, to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.

If you experience discomfort or pain, you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen products.

Do not wash treated area or shower for at least 12 hours after your treatment. Once you’re ready to cleanse your skin, only use gentle cleansers. You may also simply use warm water with no additives.

During this time, it’s important to avoid irritants such as retinol, vitamin C, or any exfoliation for at least 1 week.

Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours as sweat can cause skin irritation. For this reason, it’s advisable to avoid saunas, hot tubs or any steam treatments as well.

Be sure to drink plenty of water while you heal.

    Day 2-7:

Your skin may feel dry, textured and may start flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. During this period, you may apply your regular skin moisturizer.

If possible, hold off from applying makeup for a few days. Tinted moisturizer is a great option.

You can slowly start re-introducting moisturizer after 24 hours after procedure.

    Day 7+:

Your skin should be healed with a smooth radiant appearance. During this time, you may slowly re-introduce your skincare regimen that involves retinols and actives.

    General tips:

Avoid direct sunlight, wear SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.

Remember your skin is healing and everyone’s skin journey is different. Results may vary from patient to patient. Your body's function and overall health are reflected in your skin and results, so be patient. If you’r skin gets irritated  when you start introducing products, wait a few more days.

The number of treatments needed cannot always be accurately predicted, even under the best of circumstances. Normally, 1-3 treatments is recommended.

  • Following your PRP procedure, there is very little downtime. But we still advise you to rest and take it easy for a couple of days post-procedure. Follow these guidelines to make sure your healing progresses well and you have optimal outcomes from your procedure.

Do not touch, rub, or massage the injection site.

Avoid saunas, pools, baths, or shower for eight hours after treatment.

Avoid applying ice or heat at the site for three days after your injection, you may apply a cooling compress.

Do not apply lotions, oils, or makeup to the injection site for at least 4 hours.

Avoid strenuous activities and exercise for 2 days.

Do not smoke or consume alcohol for at least three days post-procedure. Both of these can impede the healing process and smoking may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Stay hydrated and eat healthy, nourishing meals.

You may experience tenderness, swelling, redness and bruising at the injection site after your treatment. These symptoms could persist for 7-10 days post-procedure.

Contact the clinic if your symptoms worsen or change or do not start to go away after 10 days.

    Some tips to remember:

Semaglutide works by slowing the emptying of the stomach, decreases appetite and increases feelings of fullness. Because of this, hydration is critical. Things like alcohol, multiple cups of coffee and fried foods can cause dehydration and worsen symptoms.

It’s common to feel nauseas the time of injection. For this reason we start our clients at a low dose and gradually increase as tolerated. We also have antinausea injections that can aid with this symptom if needed.

Be patient, it can take 5-6 weeks to notice weight loss.

Semaglutide helps you with weight loss, but can also affect muscle loss. For optimal results, we recommend working out 2-3 times a week to maintain your muscle tone and strength.

Not many have fatigue, but we offer 20% off Vitamin B injections to help you with your energy.

If you experience any side effects listed above or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the clinic. We’re here to help!

  • To ensure your spray tan lasts as long as possible, follow these suggestions:

    • Allow full ample time for your tan to develop. This is dependent on your skin tone and the type of spray tan you chose.

    • Wait 6–8 hours after getting a spray tan before swimming to allow it to fully develop. Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean may cause your tan to fade faster.

    • Wear loose clothing, tight clothing can rub off your tan.

    • Use a soft towel to pat yourself dry after showering instead of rubbing. Rubbing can cause your tan to rub off.

    • Take cooler, shorter showers instead of long, hot ones.

    • Avoid soaps that have stripping chemicals.

    • Use shaving cream to lubricate your skin before shaving. Shaving after getting a spray tan can cause it to look blotchy and fade faster.

    • Moisturize daily to help your skin recover and keep your tan intactItem description
